RATED TOWBARS FOR A WAGON THAT TOWS PROPER LOADS
BUILT FOR THE LOADS 76 OWNERS ACTUALLY PULL
The 76 Wagon is a 3500kg-rated tow vehicle from Toyota. Caravan, boat, horse float, camper trailer, the wagon handles all of it. The factory ball point is fine for light occasional use, but for serious regular towing, a chassis-bolted heavy-duty tow bar is what you want underneath. Proper rated capacity, a standard receiver hitch, and the kind of build that handles uneven loads across corrugated roads without flexing. The cost of fitting a real tow bar is a fraction of what towing improperly could cost you.
HEAVY STEEL, RATED HARDWARE
Each tow bar in this range is fabricated from heavy-gauge steel with a powder-coated black finish. The bar bolts directly to the wagon chassis rails using factory mounting holes and rated bolts. No welding, no drilling, fully removable for service. The 50mm square receiver accepts every common Australian trailer hitch plus a wide range of accessories. Wiring harness kits are available as add-ons for trailer brake controllers and trailer lights. Most bars include integrated mounting points for sway-control or weight-distribution hitches.
HZJ76, VDJ76, AND GDJ76 SPECIFIC
The 76 Wagon rear chassis layout changed slightly between generations, so tow bars are platform-specific. HZJ76 bars suit the original chassis configuration. VDJ76 (2007 to 2023) bars match the V8 era. GDJ76 (2024 onward) bars are matched to the new facelift chassis. Each listing confirms exact year fitment and rated capacity. Many 76 owners pair a heavy-duty tow bar with a brake controller and rear bar for complete towing and recovery setup.
